I bring to your attention a Barolo that needs no introduction… Exactly of him I’m talking about: the 2019 Barolo DOCG Riva Rocca di Alario Claudio. perfection? Surely the tasting makes any sommelier or sommelière to go in raptures. The company is located in Diano d’Alba, a small village in the province of Cuneo. However, it should be noted that the Barolo Riva Rocca vineyards are located in Verduno. This Barolo undergoes two years of aging in French barriques, a subsequent year in a 30 Hl barrel and finally in the bottle for 12 months.
And now I would like to ask you some questions I asked the producer:
“How does this wine have greater aromatic complexity than the others tasted at the review? How can you feel the scent of dried rose and violet as well as cherries in spirit so distinctly? How can you perceive the dried rose so distinctly on the palate ?”
“It’s all thanks to the harvest at the end of October. By now we’re almost the only ones to do it this late” was the answer from the producer.
And it was at that moment that like many artists and poets I found the meaning of life, commitment and perfection in a glass of wine (and it should have been a young wine. I can only imagine what it will become aged more)
